Cheryl Coffey successfully founded, owned and operated, Coffey’s Danc’n Place (CDP), one of the Greater Toronto Area’s leading dance companies for 34 years. Since 1982, Cheryl gained recognition as Artistic Director on the local, national, and international stage for her industry leading work. This includes the production of countless world class dancers who started their dance journey with Cheryl and went onto headline and choreograph for companies around the globe such as: Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Tokyo, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity, So You Think You Can Dance Canada, The Next Step, Ed Mirvish, Cirque Du Soleil, and Cirque Sublime, to name a few. During this time, Cheryl also gained a well deserved reputation within the Greater Toronto Area in building her recreational, part-time, and pre-competitive dance programs.

After building her dance empire for 34 years, Cheryl has decided to focus her efforts solely on choreography, teaching, and adjudicating and in 2016 sold CDP, passing the torch to two former students. Most recently, Terpsichore Dance Celebration named Cheryl as their new Competition Director. Cheryl’s portfolio with Terpsichore includes Dance Starz Challenge, Flying Solo, and University Dance Challenge. Cheryl is very excited for the upcoming competition season with 23 events from British Columbia to New Brunswick and everywhere in between.

Cheryl strives to instil in all dancers a sense of character and self-worth by building on the basic physical and mental demands generated in dance. Cheryl believes that every dancer deserves to feel the roar of applause for a job well done.
